This original oil painting is partly sculpture - the facade of the lighthouse is actually a door that opens up to reveal a hidden niche inside. This completely handmade piece is constructed of a solid wood frame, with the face and inset hand built of wood panels.

Outside we see a nautical seascape featuring a lighthouse at dawn with local birds of the Oregon coast - cormorant, pigeon guillemot and common murre. The lighthouse details are intricately rendered. Inside is the sea at night, with stars in the sky and endless possibilities.
